Wow...I couldn't even read that through...vivid flashbacks of the past 28 years. Not that it needed to be proven at all, but that is dead on!

Is The Governing Body Guilty Of Religious Abuse? See Religious Abuse @ Wikipedia
by frankiespeakin inhttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/religious_abuse.
religious abuse refers to any abuse that is administered under the guise of religion and can include psychological trauma, harassment or humiliation.
abuse can also include misuse of religion for selfish, secular, or ideological ends such as abuse of a clerical position to perpetrate abuse, such as in the catholic sex abuse cases.[1].

Really??! Interesting! Having been JW AND LDS, I don't doubt it! That is quite interesting. I think it's time to do some more research on the Masons. Mom, do you have any tips on where to start?? You can just email me info if you want. Hmm. I'm smirking...that is so fascinating!

My act of REBELLION
by Gojira_101 inwell a picture says a thousand words!
i had a tattoo done today.. it was actually interesting because as i was chit chatting with the tattoo artist, she asked me if this tattoo symbolized anything....well actually it does i told her.. me: i was a jw and they are strongly against tattoos or anything that is really "normal" for people.. tattoo artist: i know all about jw, my ex-girlfriend's family was all jw, and i remember one time going over to her parents house and her grandma sat us both down and made us read some scriptures from her bible as to why we were going to hell.. me: actually you will due at armageddon, that is the jw thing.. tatt artist: oh right that is what her grandma said.
i forgot about that, you're right.. so then the rest of the conversation was just me telling her it's a cult and i told her never listen to any jw who comes knocking.. something else interesting that happened just before i came on here.

Here's To Fanatics And Raising The Bar
by exwhyzee ina fanatic is a person with an extreme and uncritical enthusiasm or zeal for something.
they take an activity, interest or belief and go beyond what would be considered normal or necessary by the majority of people.. .
having grown up as a jw and now having been away from it a few years, i better see how accustomed i had become to being involved with an organization run by fanatics of the religious variety.

We Are Telling You. You Cannot Go To University! Why? Because You Are A Drone!
by LoisLane looking for Superman inthe governing body members do not want anyone to have "higher" education, unless, as we all know, it benefits them.
lol.
to keep millions of people, under educated, under fulfilled, strictly obedient to them, makes jehovah's witnesses, easier to manipulate, easier to handle, easier to make into drones.. wake up people!.

When I said I wanted to go to nursing school, my family looked at me like I was crazy. They said I wouldn't finish, and I wouldn't amount to anything. They just said I should worry about becoming a Pioneer (which I never did, not even Auxillary), finding a husband, and Pioneering instead of going to school or having children. Yeah, children weren't an option either. I was a difficult child anyways, I had my own mind and wasn't brainwashed, so it only added to it. But I just remember hearing all the time at conventions and assemblies how those getting ready to graduate should really think about finding a part-time job and going into the full-time ministry or Bethel service. I would just roll my eyes. WHY would anyone want to do that?! Why wouldn't you want to find a passion in a job and find your soul-mate and have kids?! Oh yeah...cult. It's just so sad. They need to keep their drones in sight and easy to manipulate, you are right, Lois!

Why Does The Watchtower Dis-fellowshiping For Smoking and Not Gluttony and Alcoholism?
by ÁrbolesdeArabia inhealth care studies are showing obese body weight index is worse than smoking "death sticks", so how is the tower going to address their growing problem of overweight elders and elderettes?
if a organization is able to disfellowship a member for smoking, why not do the same with other vices and crutches their people use to hide stress, emotional disorders and depression?
employers are asking for a bmi test a their potential employees to create a diet to get healthy.

I've wondered the same thing, mainly about the alcohol abuse. My parents are HEAVY drinkers. Their way of getting around it?? SAY they are not drunk. There were countless incidences (seriously, at least once per week my entire childhood) where they'd stumble or just get more giggly than sober. (Now that I've been drinking alcohol for 11 years, I know the difference between having a drink and being wasted...so looking back, I was right!) I didn't want to get my driver's license when I was 15, but they forced me to take the classes. The day I had my permit, I had to drive everywhere. Within that week, we would go to a family friends' house about 45 minutes away. We'd go 2-3 times per month at least. Mind you, we lived in the middle of the woods, and drove country highways through the woods with many wildlife encounters. I would have to drive home at 3am, my brother and sister were passed out from exhuastion, and my parents were passed out drooling from being so drunk. I kid you not, they would just say they weren't drunk, and that was good enough, even for the C.O. or D.O. (they all stayed with us when visiting, for as long as I could remember, so they saw this as well.) My dad was a VERY influential elder, my grandpa was the P.O. Funny how things work. So many people saw my parents for what they were, yet no one has the gall to confront them or anyone else. It's just sick. There are so many double standards in that cult!

by L3G inbeen lurking here for years but finally decided to come out, at least partially.
of all things, the post of 'bats in the belfry' re: the supposed break up of gb member geoffrey jackson and his cute (ex-?
) fiancee a few days ago spurred me to do so.
